Bus day-Oslo to the mountains!

Another huge, wonderful breakast! My favorite part was the chia pudding...I’m going to figure out how to make it at home!

We knew it was just a matter of time...

Since wood is so readily available here, and fire protection has come such a long way, here is a re-new style... wood hi-rise!

As we make our way north to Giant Country, there is major construction much of the way as Norway spends it’s oil money making new roads.

The road used to end at the south end of this lake, and you’d have to take a boat further north. Now granted, we’ve been driving next to this, the largest of 450,000 lakes in Norway, for about 1/2 hour. But, a road is sure nice!

Next stop, Lillehammer, home of the 1994 winter olympics!

We toured an open air folk museum, where entire traditional farm communities from different eras have been brought and reconstructed. We learned how life was during the dark ages in Norway. Hardly any schooling, it was all about working the farm.

And here, finally, is a stabe church. We’ll come to another in a couple of hours, but this was exciting for me to see! The Vikings brought Christianity to Norway, and it was they who built these beautiful churches.

Now we’re starting to see snow!

Since wifi isn’t so great here in the mountains, see part two for more.
