Feet

George:

Remember a few weeks ago, when George tore his plantar facia and we weren’t sure if we could go on this trip? We were praying for healing. Sure enough, George got better every day. Then we prayed that he wouldn’t need to bring his air cast. Well...the day before we left he wore it the whole day, and decided he wasn’t going to bring it. A womderful answer to prayer!

Our trek in DC was quite a test. A few days before we left home, I got an email that I had 10 Lyft rides that I could get 25% off of. Now, I had signed up for Lyft when George had his triple bypass surgery a couple of years ago. After spending the first week at home with him, I wanted to be able to get home in a hurry if I needed to, as I don’t have my car downtown with me during the day.  But, I never used it...nor did I even really know how to. So, now was the time to use it, to save George’s foot for touring around the different places in DC...but getting a Lyft between places. God provided a Lyft!  It was really easy to use, and we met some really nice drivers!
So, his foot survived, more or less. I can tell when it’s sore...he walks kind of flat-footed. When it feels better, he walks more normally, with a heel toe roll. He continues to ice, stretch, and rest it. My prayer now is for continued improvement for our time in Scandinavia when we’ll be on our Rick Steves tour!

Me:

A couple of months ago I got my Montrails after carefully shopping around for the perfect shoes. They really felt perfect. I even got some inserts that custom form to my foot, giving me better arch support. Still, somehow, they’re not really working out. I think they’re just 1/2 size too small with the insert in there. Drats! So...we’re planning a shoestore outing tomorrow morning before we take off for our trip back up to DC for our overnight there before our flight out on Tuesday. Drats...so much for prior preparation!!
