Sweden at last!

Well, here we go...vacation part 2! We both got a little sleep on the planes, which makes today a little easier. We connected through Iceland, which was rainy, 41 degrees, and very windy. Hope it warms up considerably in 2 1/2 weeks when we get there!
Magnus met us and took us to their home, which is quite lovely.

We went on a little walk around the neighborhood, which is about 5 miles north of Stockholm. I can hardly believe how quiet and peaceful it is here! While we were relaxing in the backyard by the pool

A deer walked through the backyard!

I should say a bit on how it is that we come to know this family. Last summer, one of our neighbors on the moorage asked if anyone had room to house some relatives that were visiting from Sweden. We cheerfully volunteered, and housed 3 delightful teenage boys...Ludvig, Jacob, and Hugo. George took them out waterskiing, boarding, and tubing every day. Of their entire US vacation, this was the boys’s highlight. Once they left the house seemed so strangely empty! Apparently, Ludvig left behind a pair of socks. That, coupled with their invitation to visit any time, was all it took. Here we are. With Ludvig’s socks.

Tomte did some exploring on his own, and found some books in his own language!

So, apparently he’s Swedish.

Once Johanna got home, we planned what to do for Thur and Friday. While we were getting that all dialed in, she made a wonderful fettuccine with a salmon white sauce. The first home cooking for over a week...and oh my, were we ready for that! Thank you, Johanna!!!😋
Then we caught the subway, which is a shirt walk from their home, to the heart of Stockholm. Fortunately we’ve been through enough subway systems that it all made sense. We found both the boat we’ll take tomorrow to Sandham Island ot in the archipelago, and the 2 boats we plan on taking on Friday. The wharf area is beautiful!

The moon is approaching full, and it’s light till about 10:00 this far north!
So, now we’re back, and bushed. I just took some melatonin to help with the time shift, which I think is 6 hours. Tomorrow we srart early!!
